Egypt is known for the many great pyramids built during Ancient Egypt (3000 BC to 332 BC).
The Giza Pyramids (close to Cairo) are the most famous pyramids of Egypt.
The First Pyramid: The Step Pyramid

The Step Pyramid was the first pyramid built in Egypt. It lies in in the ancient burial ground in Saqqara and is considered the first large-scale stone construction.
The pyramids were built in the third and fourth dynasty to show the great power of the pharaonic state.
